Sifu Asad Mir, owner of WingTsun™ Toronto, is a certified 4th Technician Grade WT-Instructor with over 30 years of experience in the Martial Arts. After having trained several years in other arts (Tae Kwon Do, Shaolin Kung Fu, full contact kickboxing, western boxing) and looking for an art that stressed efficiency and practicality, he came to WingTsun™ Kung Fu in 1991 and LATOSA-Escrima (Weapons-System) in '94 and hasn't looked back since.One of the very few pictures of Sifu Asad striking a Shaolin Kung Fu pose (real film! He has received WT-instruction from Sifu Peter Vilimek, 7th PG (from 1991-1995) in Berlin, Germany. It was here that he accomplished all 12 Student Grades of the WT-program and redoubled his efforts to accomplish his 1st Technician Grade under Grandmaster Keith Kernspecht, head of the European WingTsun Organisation (EWTO), before moving to Toronto, Canada.

Moving to Toronto, Canada in the fall of 1995, he joined the American WingTsun Organisation (AWTO), headed then by Sifu Emin Boztepe, 6th PG. From 1995 to 2003, Sifu Asad travelled extensively to New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago to attend seminars with him, apart from hosting Sifu Emin Boztepe twice a year at his own school in Toronto, receiving also private instruction from 1995 to 2003. Sifu Asad received his 2nd TG from Sifu Emin in Los Angeles in the summer of 2000.
In 2003, Sifu Lau Ka Sun, 6th PG, moved from Hong Kong to Toronto. Sifu Asad became his private student from 2003-2008.

Rafael Santos is a 10th SG and started learning Wing Tsun from Sifu Asad Mir in 2012. He briefly trained in Aikido in Brazil before joining WT and found it to be an enjoyable, efficient, and complete self-defense system. Rafael attended seminars presented by Grandmaster Leung Ting and Sifu Asad Mir. Additionally, he recently enrolled in the Wing Tsun Leadership program in Toronto aiming to understand the WT teaching methodology in greater detail.
